The Dovetail team is comprised of the industry's most experienced professionals providing expert advice and guidance. Whether you interact with our Owners, a Project Manager, Transition Coordinator, Move Assistant, or Realtor® you are supported by the entire Dovetail family, ready to walk this journey with you and pivot as needed. Take our hand and let us show you the way!

Erin DiCarlo
Founder | President

Erin DiCarlo founded Dovetail Companies in 2017 with a mission to help older adults make an overwhelming process, a more seamless one.

Some of her fondest childhood memories revolve around spending time with her grandparents, Nanny, and Da. It’s not that they were your stereotypical Hallmark grandparents, to the contrary. Da was a WWII veteran and he carried the scars physically and emotionally of veterans of that era. Nanny was kind, compassionate, and a dutiful wife and mother. What they did have and lived was a solid sense of family and the priority it takes over all else.

Together, they brought solace and peace. They helped to anchor and guide Erin, which would unwittingly launch her into her career.

Lauren Watts
Co-Owner | Vice President

Lauren Watts joined Erin as Co-Owner and Vice President in April 2018. Erin and Lauren share the same vision; to positively shift the way we view and support aging in America.

Together they are building a community of experts to support older adults, and their families, during the planning and execution phases of a major life transition. Their approach is simple, individualized, and incredibly unique.

Lauren started her career in senior living working for a large New England-based provider, where she worked closely with residents moving from their home to community. Having worked with hundreds of older adults and witnessing the oftentimes overwhelming process, Lauren is committed to ensuring our clients have a positive experience and seamless transition.

Joe Scott
Director of Move Management

After moving his mother to an assisted living community several years ago, Joe was motivated to retire early from a long career in financial services and pursue a calling to help clients with life-changing transitions.

Joe brings move management experience from WayForth and Home Transition Resource in addition to a combined 30 years at Putnam Investments, State Street Corporation, and SS&C Technologies. This experience blends to provide a holistic, pragmatic approach to the transition process.

As a NASSM Certified Senior/Specialty Move Manager (SMM-C), Joe approaches each client’s move as if it were his mom’s. He recognizes that each client requires a tailored approach and has their own various emotions and feelings about the important transition to a new home.

Joe is a lifelong resident of Boston’s north shore and has volunteered for many years as a Money Manager with Elder Services of Merrimack Valley and North Shore and as part of The Beverly SeniorCare Inc.’s STAY Pet Services Program.

Clare Wishart
Assistant Director, Move Management

A native of the United Kingdom, Clare joined Dovetail Companies as a Project Manager with many years of experience in the service industries and people management.

Before starting a family, Clare held a managerial position with the largest UK supermarket chain, Safeway. During her time raising her three sons, she was a teacher's aide, focusing on children with learning difficulties. Clare later joined Generations on the Move in central Massachusetts where she discovered her passion for helping seniors during a transformational stage of their lives. When her husband’s job required relocation to eastern Massachusetts, Clare joined WayForth as a Project Manager prior to joining the Dovetail team.

Outside of work Clare loves to hike, bike, cook, knit, sew, and entertain her family and friends at homes in Reading, MA or on Cape Cod.

Juli Ford
Director of Home Sales & Community Liaison

Juli is a lifelong resident of the South Shore of Massachusetts. She grew up in Quincy and spent her childhood summers at her family cottage in Plymouth. Growing up in the bungalow her great-grandparents built-in 1929 sparked her passion for houses and the richness of family stories told through our homes.

When Juli's Dad passed in 2011, she learned firsthand how challenging the monumental task of sorting through a lifetime of memories can be (yes, there were 45 years of tax returns in the attic!).

As a Certified Senior Advisor®, REALTOR®, Seniors Real Estate Specialist®, and Seller Representative Specialist, Juli is honored to work with our clients and their families to support them through both the practical and emotional aspects of selling the long-time home.

Before joining Dovetail, Juli worked in the nonprofit housing field for more than 20 years where she worked with organizations specializing in homebuyer and homeowner education, and residential real estate development.

Today, she lives with her husband, Rod, their two college students, their whippet, Louie, and Juli’s mom, Jane, in their multi-generational home in Pembroke, MA.

When the position of executive assistant opened at Dovetail Companies, she jumped at the opportunity. “What attracted me to want to work at Dovetail Companies is the way Erin and Lauren run their business. They are brilliant businesswomen; astonishingly genuine, attentive and incredibly kind-hearted, treating every client as if they are their own family. They are the types of women I want my daughters to look up to and that’s the kind of company I want to work alongside.”

For the past 11 years, Susan worked in the senior move management industry.  Eight of those years were spent assisting with the growth of a company (HTR) from the start-up phase to an acquisition (WayForth).

She loves working with clients, but her true passion is helping coworkers behind the scenes, with training or working on special projects, to keep a company organized and headed in a positive direction.

Outside of work, Susan volunteers with the Trauma Intervention Program of Merrimack Valley and Project Home Again.  She enjoys helping others by reducing their stress or making them feel even a little better on their toughest days. Her hobbies include: golfing, pickleball, and exercising.

Diane Garrity
Professional Relations

I have always loved working with people and helping others, especially seniors. They are our mentors who we can learn so much from and deserve respect and dignity, but they may need assistance to thrive in their golden years. I was privileged to help care for my 100-year-old mom in her home with my sister, so I know how rewarding yet challenging it can be. It takes a village! I am a firm believer that everyone is unique and should be treated as such.

My work background is very diverse including public relations, marketing, retail, grant writing education, youth ministry, caregiving and volunteering, so I have experience dealing with all types of people. I meet them where they are, listen to their needs and try to offer the best solutions.

I am grateful to be a part of such a compassionate company that works with its heart and soul. We care about our clients and want to enrich and empower their lives as best as we can. We are honored to guide them and support them through their aging journey.

When not planning a move, Lisa enjoys biking, tennis, golf and spending time with her husband, three children, and chocolate lab down on Cape Cod.

Erin Stafford
Project Manager

After spending 30-plus years as a Project Manager in the Financial Technology field, Erin decided a career change was due.  She was spending time helping her mother upgrade her bathrooms to allow her to age in place.  In addition, she took on the challenge of fixing up an elder family member's home to get it ready for selling.

These, and other projects, led her to work for Dovetail.  It was a perfect fit for her current skills and allowed her to expand her interest in helping clients age in place, or, downsize and transition to a new home.

Anne Marie Casey
Project Manager

Anne Marie spent the early years of her career in different management roles in the software industry. After the sudden passing of her father in December 2020, Anne Marie was faced with the primary care of her mother who has been living with Alzheimer’s disease. She says “The experience of moving my mom back to New England from Florida; choosing the best memory facility and care for her, trying to ensure I answered every question most effectively and advocating daily on her behalf made me truly appreciate the breadth of challenges so many families face.”

She decided to leave her job to have the opportunity to spend quality time with her mother, and with her memory care community. Through this experience, Anne Marie has earned certifications with the National Certification Board for Alzheimer’s and Aging. “I am thrilled to join Dovetail Companies to continue this journey. Advocacy and a hands-on conversion approach are the two most fundamental aspects of a successful and enjoyable transition. At some point in our lives, we all face downsizing, rightsizing and perhaps memory care.”

Anne Marie resides on the coast of New Hampshire. She is happily married with two daughters and a house full of fur babies; her oldest daughter is a neurology nurse, currently living in Denver, and her youngest daughter is studying to become a speech pathologist.
